Through the use of the new “active pdf” application form online, applicants can now fill out their details in an on-line form. This makes it easier for Access NI, as it ensures they can read the form quicker and easier. The active pdf file can be found by clicking the link below.

The Byron Review was a report delivered on the 27 March 2008 to the UK Government (in particular, the Department for Children, Schools and Families). It was authored and overseen by Dr Tanya Byron.

The Review focuses on the use of video games and the internet (particularly social networking websites) by children, and discusses the use of classification and the role of parenting in policing these.

The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) is a non-departmental public body created by the UK Government in response to the inquiry headed by Sir Michael Bichard that was set up in the wake of the Soham Murders. The ISA is the corner-stone of the new Vetting and Barring Scheme in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which will require all those working with vulnerable groups to undergo an enhanced vetting procedure before being allowed to commence any relevant duties.
